Presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has announced he will choose his running mate in 2024.

He was responding to suggestions from some traditional authorities in Asunafo South for the former president to consider their MP, Eric Opoku for the position. In his response, he emphasized the importance of having a clear procedure for selecting the right person.

He also described the Asunafo South MP as one of his best-performing ministers when he was president.

“Our party, like custom, has processes for selecting candidates for various roles.

“The Presidential candidate, National executives, and Council of Elders meet to select a running mate.” But that procedure will begin next year. So keep praying for such a day,” Mr Mahama added.

He concluded by urging for calm as the party prepares to choose in the next year.
