We thought they were humble and meek — Mahama

17 Aug

Former President John Mahama has launched a scathing attack on the New Patriotic Party (NPP), accusing them of masquerading as humble and meek individuals during their campaign trail.

According to him, the NPP’s pretentious humility was a ruse to win the trust of Ghanaians, which ultimately proved to be a mistake.

Mahama recalled how NPP members frequented chop bars, ate and pounded fufu with delegates, and even ground flour at local mills, projecting an image of humility and respect. However, upon assuming power, their true character was revealed, exposing arrogance and dishonesty.

Mahama’s comments were further fueled by a recent incident where the NPP’s running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, was introduced to Otumfuo, the Asantehene.

Despite Otumfuo’s cautionary words about Prempeh’s perceived arrogance, the running mate went on to disparage Ghana’s founding father, Kwame Nkrumah, within hours of the meeting.
