Following last Saturday’s fatal collision between a VIP bus and a fuel tanker which claimed seven lives, one driver with the VIP company has identified the cause of the accident to be not that of the tanker driver but other VIP drivers. Speaking on condition of anonymity, he said the deceased tanker driver was a target out of envy from other VIP drivers. According to him, the driver operates a new vehicle, which most of the drivers envied. This animosity, he alleged, might have led some people to take certain actions that might have contributed to the crash.
While the families of those victims are still grieving, the entire nation is in shock to digest that pride of the driver fraternity could have been involved in such an accident. People wanted the immediate punishment of the alleged misconduct to prevent any more chances of this type of incident. Indeed, the current inquiries into transport suggest much more detailed attention to the concerns about the safety and personal issues of road drivers.
