The Change We Wanted Has Come – Alan Kyeremanten Sends Message To His Followers

01 Jan

In a heartfelt New Year’s message to his supporters, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, former Trade Minister and prominent political figure, has sparked conversations across Ghana with his statement, “The change we wanted has come.” This declaration, coming after the National Democratic Congress (NDC) emerged victorious in the 2024 elections, has left many pondering his intentions and next steps.

As a former stalwart of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who recently formed the Movement for Change after parting ways with the party, Kyeremanten has been vocal about his vision for a transformed Ghana. In his message to his supporters, he expressed gratitude for their unwavering efforts during the campaign period, emphasizing their dedication to his cause and the nation.

“My brothers and sisters, Movement for Change family, first of all I want to wish you a happy new year,” he began. “I want to use this opportunity to give special thanks to you for all the hard work you did during the campaign period. I know it’s because of the love you have for me and Ghana that’s why you put in enough effort for us to see the change we are seeing today. God bless all of you.”

While Kyeremanten did not explicitly celebrate the NDC’s victory, his words hinted at a broader vision for the political future of Ghana. “When we began our campaign for the 2024 elections, we said that it’s Movement for Change. So, I believe that the special change we were looking for is what the Lord has given us, so we have won,” he said.

Observers have interpreted his remarks as an acknowledgment of the shifting political landscape and perhaps a subtle critique of his former party, the NPP. Many speculate that his departure from the NPP and the establishment of his new political movement were strategic moves to reshape Ghana’s governance model.

Kyeremanten ended his message with a promise to unveil new directives for the Movement for Change. “Going forward, I will take decisions on new directives for our party. As I bring my message to an end, may the good Lord bless you and make you prosperous.”

The political journey of Alan Kyeremanten continues to captivate Ghanaians, as his vision for change appears undeterred by electoral outcomes. For his followers, his words are a call to action, while for others, they raise questions about the evolving dynamics of Ghana’s political scene.
