Surprising Reasons You Should Avoid Sleeping With Your Phone On Your Chest

14 Feb

Lots of people have a habit of falling asleep with their phone in their hand or on their chest. But did you know that this habit could be risky? Here’s why:

One big concern is radiation exposure. Phones give off something called radiofrequency (RF) radiation, which can be absorbed by the body.

Even though the levels of this radiation are usually low, being exposed to it for a long time might not be good for your health. Some studies have said that too much RF radiation could be linked to cancer and problems with having babies, but more research is needed to know for sure.

Another reason not to sleep with your phone on your chest is that it can distract you. It’s easy to wake up in the middle of the night and start looking at social media or checking emails. This can make it hard to sleep well and mess up your normal sleep schedule.

On top of the health risks and distractions, having your phone on your chest can be annoying. If you need to go to the bathroom or get up for any reason during the night, you’ll have to take your phone with you or leave it behind, which can be a hassle.

So what’s the solution? It’s better to keep your phone at a safe distance while you sleep, like on a table next to your bed or in another room. If you need an alarm clock, you can use a regular one instead of relying on your phone.

In short, sleeping with your phone on your chest can expose you to radiation, keep you awake at night, and be annoying
