Scammer busted for defrauding MOMO vendor

A young man identified as Ike Ebuka was nearly lynched to death after he was caught defrauded by a MOMO vendor in Bibiani in the Western North region.

According to a report filed by Joseph Akpala on Kessben FM’s Breaking News, the Mobilemoney vendor who immediately realized the young man had handed her fake cash drew the attention of the people around who caught him.

Ebuka was lucky to have escaped death because there were some policemen around who prevented the angry mob from finishing him.

The MOMO vendor explained that Ebuka apparently brought GHC4000 to be deposited and after counting the money, Ebuka told her that he was depositing the money on a Vodafone Mobile money number which she did not have so he took back his money.

He then came back and told the MOMO vendor that she should deposit the money on his MTN number with the fake currency same as the GHC4000, the MOMO vendor was smart enough to check the money again and alarmed the people around after Ebuka was leaving.
