In a dramatic and deeply spiritual moment, Rev. Kofi Oduro, head pastor of Alabaster International Ministries (Alabaster House Chapel), recounted a chilling story during one of his recent sermons.
The tale, which seemed almost too surreal to believe, involved a couple on the brink of their wedding, a divine revelation, and a decision that no one expected.
Rev. Oduro shared that the couple, seemingly perfect in every way, had been preparing for their white wedding. The venue was booked, the music set, and the wedding cake was ordered—every detail appeared to be in place for a dream celebration.
But just two weeks before the wedding, while in deep prayer, Rev. Oduro had an extraordinary spiritual experience. As he prayed, he saw a vivid and intense vision: a fierce fire engulfing the groom’s house, with the bride inside.
“I saw the flames, the smoke, and the destruction,” Rev. Oduro explained, his voice heavy with emotion. “And I knew in that moment that something was terribly wrong.”
The fire in the vision wasn’t just a random occurrence—it was a divine warning. The pastor, deeply moved by this revelation, felt an undeniable urge to act.
“It became clear to him that this marriage, as beautiful as it seemed on the surface, was doomed. The warning was too severe to ignore. He immediately made the difficult decision to cancel the wedding, a move that shocked both families.
As the news of the cancellation spread, both families were thrown into turmoil. “We had everything set,” the groom’s family lamented, still reeling from the unexpected turn of events. “How could this happen? What went wrong?”
The bride’s family, equally distraught, found themselves grappling with confusion and disbelief.
But as time passed, more revelations surfaced that would explain the pastor’s drastic intervention. It was discovered that the groom had been hiding a significant truth about his identity.
He had told his bride-to-be and her family that he was a miner, a profession that painted him as a hardworking and well-established man.
However, it was soon uncovered that the groom was actually a commercial driver—a far cry from the image he had crafted.
“The deception was deep,” Rev. Oduro shared. “It wasn’t just the groom’s lies that were troubling, but the spiritual warning that came with it. There was a lot more at play than anyone realized.”
Adding to the complexity of the situation, it was revealed that the bride’s aunt, who had been the driving financial force behind the wedding, owned a hotel in East Legon. The aunt had been covering the substantial costs of the wedding preparations, and rumors swirled about her financial dealings.
The truth behind the wedding—once wrapped in excitement and promises of lifelong love—was starting to unravel in the most unexpected ways.
“I believe this is God’s way of showing us the truth,” Rev. Oduro said, emphasizing the importance of trust and honesty in relationships.
