Russia is preparing to storm Kyiv, according to the Ukrainian military.

As the invasion enters its 12th day, UK defence officials believe Russian troops have made minimal gains over the last 48 hours.

Vladimir Putin’s troops have been attempting to advance towards the capital city for days but ground to a halt as the Ukrainian resistance hit supply lines.

Now, Ukrainian commanders are warning that Russian troops are re-grouping and beginning “to accumulate resources to storm Kyiv”.

It comes as Ukrainian President Vlodomyr Zelensky vows revenge after photos of a fleeing family lying dead in the street as Russian forces shelled Irpin shocked the world.

Zelensky said: “We will punish everyone who committed atrocities in this war. On our land.

“We will find every b****rd which shot at our cities, our people, which bombed our land, which launched rockets, which gave the order and pressed ‘start’.

“There will be no quiet place on this Earth for you. Except for the grave.”

⚡️Hostomel village council confirms on March 7 Russian troops killed head of Hostomel territorial community Yury Prylypko.

He was killed along with two other people while giving bread and medicine to Hostomel residents.
