Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has revealed his tactical approach for overcoming Berekum Chelsea in their upcoming Week 4 Ghana Premier League fixture this Sunday.
In a pre-match interview, Ogum disclosed that his team has devised a potent attacking plan to exploit the defensive weaknesses of their opponents. The match, scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Golden City Park, promises to be a competitive encounter as Kotoko looks to maintain their strong start to the season.
“Attacking-wise, we need to explore the spaces behind their defense, and when the few chances come our way, we must try as much as possible to convert them,” Coach Ogum stated during an interview with the club’s media team.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining focus throughout the match, both with and without the ball, as any lapse in concentration could result in a costly mistake.
“Psychologically, we need to stay very alert throughout the game. Whether we have the ball or not, we must stay focused. Any lack of attention could lead to us being punished,” he added.
Ogum also highlighted the need for tactical discipline, urging his players to stay compact and handle Berekum Chelsea’s aggressive approach while ensuring their own defensive stability.
“Tactically, we need to be compact because they will come at us aggressively. We must be athletic and play safe at the back.”
Asante Kotoko, who have picked up four points from their first two games, will be aiming to secure another victory against a Berekum Chelsea side known for their tough home performances.
