Former President John Dramani Mahama has described the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the most inconsistent political party in the country’s history.
He says the NPP says one thing today and does the opposite tomorrow, demonstrating their lack of seriousness as a political party.
Mahama’s comments come on the back of the NPP’s promise to empower the youth to venture into poultry farming if they retain power.
According to Mahama, encouraging the youth into poultry production is something he has spoken on extensively, because it is contained in the NDC’s manifesto.
However, the NPP tend to make mockery of him during one of his presentations on the initiative, where he said they would supply day old chicks to the youth to rear.
Speaking to party faithful in the Nkwanta South constituency of the Oti Region Tuesday, November 05, 2024, the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress said he was surprised to go on social media to find the NPP promising Ghanaian youth of the very thing they teased him of.
“I go on social media every morning to see what’s trending and I saw the NPP doing an advert saying they will incentivise the youth into poultry farming. This is something in the NDC manifesto which I’ve spoken about on several occasions where I said we’ll give them the chicken so that when they grow and lay eggs, they can sell and get money, as well as the meat.
“But the NPP used that as an advert to tease me saying I’m promising the youth ‘Nkokɔ nkitinkiti’ (to wit day old chicks) and that’s not what they’ll give to the youth. This morning they’ve also made an advert saying they’ll provide the youth with chicks to rear.
“That’s why I’ve been saying that NPP is consistently the most inconsistent party. They are consistently inconsistent because you can’t be teasing me of something which is not worth the youth and turn around to promise them you’re going to empower them to take care of fowls,” he stated.
