The Member of Parliament for Efutu and Majority leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has admonished against violence in the upcoming elections.
The Efutu MP while addressing educational workers in the Efutu municipality at a teachers’ award ceremony organized by him, cautioned the youth particularly, to eschew any acts of violence.
The legislator, while cautioning that perpetrators of violence will face the full rigours of the law, advised political party supporters to sell their message and achievements rather than engaging in heated exchanges and altercations.
“You the grassroots must know that we politicians don’t fight in Parliament and so there’s no need for you to fight for us. You should know that no politician will be there for you when you find yourself in the hands of the police for engaging in any form of violence,” he said.
The Efutu legislator also asked his supporters to trumpet his developmental achievements while also pledging to even do more when re-elected.
In all, 39 teachers were awarded by the MP for their outstanding performance in the last one year.
