Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday (Sept 28) that he had given the directive to neutralise Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah as the Iran-aligned Lebanese militant group would have regenerated if he was allowed to live. “He would have quickly rehabilitated Hezbollah’s capabilities. So I gave the order and Nasrallah is no longer with us,” Netanyahu said.

North Korea on Sunday reacted to the recent US military aid worth $8 billion given to Ukraine, which has been fighting a war with Russia since late February 2022. Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, said that the US was escalating the Ukraine conflict and driving all of Europe to the brink of a nuclear war.

In other news from around the world, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump made yet another verbal attack on his election rival Kamala Harris. This time, Trump called Harris “mentally impaired” and a “disaster.”

In his first public statement since the killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had “settled the account” with a “mass murderer.”
