The Ghana Police Service has disclosed that some members of the National Democratic Congress besieged their training school in Kumasi over false claims of secret recruitment.
A statement from their outfit denied engaging in any secret recruitment.
Rather, the police had arrested some 487 suspects in connection with the QNET Ponzi scheme.
Due to their large numbers, the suspects were sent to the training school to screen them as pat of their investigations.

The Ghana Police Service refutes the allegation in a viral video suggesting a secret recruitment ongoing at the Kumasi Police Training School in the Ashanti region.
On Monday 2nd September 2024, the police conducted a special operation in Kumasi where 487 suspects were arrested in connection with the QNET Ponzi scheme. Due toΒ the large number of suspects involved, they were taken to the training school for screening as part of the investigation process.
However, while the screening was ongoing, some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) besieged the training school claiming they had heard of an ongoing secret recruitment at the school.
Upon realizing the claim was false and there was no such recruitment going on, they dispersed.
We, therefore, urge the public to disregard the claim of the said secret recruitment exercise and treat it with the contempt it deserves.
