According to reports sighted by Ghanahub on Assase radio, National Investigations Bureau (NIB) operatives storm New Patriotic Party (NPP) office in Akwatia (Eastern Region) to arrest NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwatia, Ernest Kumi.

One of the NIB operatives allegedly pulled a side arm to compel Ernest Kumi to yield to their demand to arrest him and to bring him to the NIB office in Accra. The NIB operatives allegedly came to the NPP Akwatia office in three vehicles.

Ernest Kumi is believed to have participated in Friday Muslim prayers with the Muslim community in his constituency. Mr Kumi is currently at the NPP Akwatia office. He is believed to have told the NIB operatives that he will voluntarily present himself to the NIB office if they really have a need for his presence.
