Nana B demands retraction and apology over defamatory allegations

25 Feb

Henry Nana Boakye, through his legal representatives, Sarkodie Baffour Awuah & Partners, has formally demanded a retraction and apology from the Media Foundation for West Africa regarding an investigative story aired on TV3.

The legal notice, dated Monday (24 February), addresses claims made in the investigative report titled “NSS Scandal, the Inside Story.”

According to the letter, the report falsely alleged that Boakye served as Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA) from 2017 to 2020 and implicated him in events at the institution during that period.

However, his lawyers clarified that he held the position from January 2017 to September 2018 before resigning to take up his role as National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The legal team insists that the publication of Boakye’s image alongside allegations of fraudulent and improper conduct is defamatory.

They have, therefore, demanded that the Media Foundation retract the story and issue a public apology within seven days, ensuring the correction reaches the same audience as the original report.

The letter added cautioned that failure to comply with these demands may result in legal action.
