Man United bosses settle on Erik ten Hag’s potential replacement after 6-hour meeting

Manchester United fans eagerly waited for a statement from the club about Erik ten Hag after a poor run of results.

The club hierarchy led by minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe held a meeting earlier this week, and the Dutchman’s position as coach was reportedly discussed.

Reports in England have also indicated they discussed a potential replacement if they decide to fire Ten Hag.

Erik ten Hag’s job as Man United coach has been a topic of discussion since the season started. A dreadful start has put him under immense pressure, with many fans calling for his sacking.

Who will replace Erik ten Hag at Man United?

According to The Independent, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has requested “forensic cases” on all scenarios about the coach’s future.

Ratcliffe and chief executive Omar Berrada, sporting director Dan Ashworth, technical director Jason Wilcox and director Sir Dave Brailsford discussed what comes next if they fire Ten Hag.

The report adds that Tomas Tuchel was discussed as a possible replacement if they move on from the former Ajax coach.

Some advocated for a change now, but others felt it was too early and that a change could cause some disruption.

Tuchel has been mentioned in England as a potential successor, but the club are yet to release a statement. The Red Devils face Brentford in the Premier League after the international break.

With Erik Ten Hag’s fate yet to be determined by Man United, Tuchel has reportedly expressed interest in coaching the Red Devils.
