As posted by adomeonline today, tragedy struck a neighborhood in Accra, Ghana after a 38-year-old man was found dead in his home, reportedly taking his own life following the discovery of wife’s affairs with their own pastor.
The incident which has left the community in shock, underscores turmoil caused by infidelity and betrayal within trusted relationships.
According to close family sources. The deceased, identified as Kofi Mensah, had been married to his wife Akosu for over 10 years.
The couple was known to be active Members of their church where the pastor was regarded as a spiritual guide and confidant.
It is believed that Kofi Mensah accidentally stumbled upon text messages and explicit and conversation between his and the pastor on her phone.
On the morning of the incident, neighbors reported hearing loud cries from Mensah residence. Shortly after Akosua discovered her husband irresponsive in their bedroom.
Preliminary investigations suggest Kofi consume a lethal substance. Police officers were called to the scene and have since launched an inquiry into the circumstances leading to the tragic death
The church which has not been named also come under scrutiny, with members expressing mixed reactions to the allegations against the pastor. Some have called for his immediate removal, with others awaiting the results of investigations before passing judgement.
Physiologists have urged the community to prioritize mental health and open communication in addressing issues of infidelity among the married women.
The body of the deceased was transferred to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Morgue for autopsy and preservation.
