The second day provisional counting results of the runoff of the presidential election released by the National Elections Commission (NEC) has revealed that the presidential candidate of the opposition Unity Party (UP), Ambassador Joseph Nyumah Boakai has captured 712, 741 vote which is equivalent to 50.58%
Which his opponent, incumbent President George Manneh Weah of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) received 606,520 votes also equivalent to 49.42%, following the reading of results from the counties, the Chairperson of the Commission, Mrs. Davidetta Brown-Lansana said the final counting will continue on Friday, November 17, 2023.
