The wife of the late Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah, has disclosed that her husband was battling for his life as far back as August 2023.
According to her, he had been terminally ill as far back as August 2023, after his doctors
in Germany discovered it.
To her, John Kumah died of a terminal disease and not from any form of poisoning, as speculated on various media platforms.
Lilian Kumah says all the Doctors they contacted never mentioned poisoning in their reports and therefore it comes as a shock to her that the media is speculating poisoning as the cause of death.
Lilian Kumah cannot fathom why someone would lie about the cause of the death of her husband and still be walking as a free man, causing the immediate family of the late more pain than they are already battling.
She indicated that she has been with her husband through the challenging moments, and even though he went through pain battling his life, he continued to serve the country and the political party he belongs to.
Lilian Kumah made these revelations when she spoke to Accra-based Asaase Radio in an interview. “My husband went through pain but he never showed that he was in pain. He went through all the pain to do everything he needed to do during the period of his ill-health.
“He was motivated by a particular motto that he always operated by which is, “We don’t do what is convenient, we do what we are commanded to do”. So [despite] all the pain, he endured,” Mrs. Kumah remarked.
“Right from day one since he was diagnosed in Germany, I have been part of the medical processes my husband went through, and no one, none of the doctors ever told me that my husband’s medical situation was because of poisoning.
“I have all the medical reports both from Germany and Ghana and food poisoning has never been mentioned in any of the reports,” the late John Kumah’s widow added.
