‘President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is no pushover who can be forced by anyone to make decisions he does not intend to make’ That is the assertion of the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Justin Frimpong Kodua. ‘President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is no pushover who can be forced by anyone to make decisions he does not intend to make’ That is the assertion of the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Justin Frimpong Kodua.

The General Secretary of the ruling NPP was reacting to a leaked tape on social media and mainstream media on Accra-based Hot Fm that leading members of the NPP and some police chiefs are planning to get the president to remove current IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.

“I don’t think the president of the republic will be coerced under the whims and caprices of the NDC or me Justin Kodua. He is the President and whatever is needful he will do it. Nobody in the NPP will do that, I don’t have the authority to tell the president to sack the IGP, or the Chief Justice, or sack the Director of Prison Service. The President himself knows what’s happening in the country. He knows the job he is to do, then I will go and tell him to do what he needs to do, I don’t have the time to tell him that”, he stressed.

He notes that he is focusing on party activities and is not interested in any matter that concerns the IGP.

“The power that the party has given to me over my party is what I am focused on, not the IGP business or any other person’s job that does not concern me.

The lawyer and NPP National leader believe any report of and or audio purported to be a plan by the NPP to get the IGP removed is frivolous as the president will kowtow to just anybody to act against his wish.

“The NDC should stop these things when it happens this way, people begin to take entrench position and it does not help the country”, he added.
