Johnnie Hughes Drops Revelation About Teacher Kwadwo And Sends Message To GES

21 Jan

The host of the Johnnie’s Bite show on 3FM, Johnnie Hughes, has made some revelations about Ghanaian comedian Teacher Kwadwo and has sent a message to the Ghana Education Service (GES).

Speaking on 3FM on Tuesday, 21st January 2025, Johnnie Hughes revealed that some head teachers and GES officials have instructed teachers to submit their lesson notes exclusively in handwritten formats. He questioned why GES and the Ministry of Education would compel teachers to purchase laptops only to later demand that lesson notes be submitted in hard copies.

According to Hughes, Teacher Kwadwo, who was formerly a teacher under the Ghana Education Service (GES), was dismissed for refusing to present his lesson notes in hard copy. Hughes argued that Teacher Kwadwo was sacked for standing up for what was right.

Johnnie Hughes was reacting to a recent statement issued by the GES, which now permits teachers to submit their lesson notes either in hard copy or soft copy format, with the latter to be sent via email to their respective heads.

Teacher Kwadwo, a comedian and former teacher in Ghana, was sacked by the Ghana Education Service (GES) on December 17, 2021. He was a teacher at Akrofuom D/A Primary School in the Ashanti Region.

The GES stated that Teacher Kwadwo failed to prepare and submit lesson notes regularly as required. They also claimed he had shown unprofessional conduct and was often absent from work without permission. However, Teacher Kwadwo believed his dismissal was due to his criticism of the education system in Ghana. He used social media to highlight the challenges faced by schools, including poor infrastructure and lack of resources.
