In a rare display of vulnerability, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has revealed his biggest fear: leaving office without a worthy successor to continue the progress made during his tenure.
Speaking at a recent gathering, Dr. Dampare urged Ghanaians to pray for him, saying, “My biggest fear is leaving the office as IGP without finding someone better than me to continue the work that my colleagues and I have built.”
This heartfelt admission highlights the IGP’s commitment to ensuring a seamless transition and his desire to leave a lasting legacy.
Under his leadership, the Service has implemented various reforms and achieved notable successes. However, Dr. Dampare recognizes that his tenure is finite and seeks divine guidance in identifying a capable successor.
