The ongoing brouhaha regarding the Health Minister seems not to come to an end any time soon. Ghanaians are split as to whether the Health Minister, who is being ‘slapped left and right’ should be retained or sacked. Kweku Agyemang Manu is currently under pressure for procurement breaches and this has even caused him to take a 2 week leave. According to the Majority in Parliament and supporters of the Dormaa MP, the mere admittance of his error shows that the minister is honest and should be pardoned for his flaws. Kweku Annan, host of ‘The Seat’ has however dared the President to sack the minister. According to Kweku on tonight’s show, the Minister has done no wrong and will go all out to campaign against the NPP if the Health Minister is sacked. “This is foolishness. No one should tell me trash.
The NDC embezzled so much money and yet the culprits are walking free. Did Agyemang Manu steal money? So who are those calling for his removal. Mr. President don’t sack him. You can’t sack Agyemang Manu. He has done nothing wrong. The president cannot dare sack him because he knows he hasn’t done anything wrong.
That Martin Kpebu should be careful. Where was he when the NDC were fooling and embezzling money? They should go to hell. I will personally campaign against the NPP if the Health Minister is sacked. They are warned. Journalists are spreading bad things about the president and they are fueling propaganda and funding fix the country people” Kweku Annan explained.
Probably, what Kweku Annan forgets is that procurement breaches have caused people to lose their jobs and so this is not news. Many feel that the Health Minister is being used as a scape goat to save the Finance Minister who is also involved in the case. Some say if the Health Minister goes, then the Finance Minister should also go, but looking at the relationship between President Akufo-Addo and Ken Ofori Atta, it is unlikely that the Finance Minister will go anywhere any time soon.
