Popular Ghanaian actress and media personality, Afia Schwarzenegger, has dropped a bombshell, accusing certain pastors in Ghana of conspiring against Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. In a recent video circulating online, Afia claimed that these pastors are determined to block Dr. Bawumia’s bid to become president because he is a Muslim.
Although Afia Schwarzenegger did not reveal the identities of these pastors, she alleged that they held a secret meeting to discuss strategies to discredit the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate. According to her, the pastors agreed during the meeting that they do not want a Muslim to lead Ghana as president.
Afia further claimed that an audio recording from the said meeting has leaked and is in her possession. She vowed to release the recording soon, promising it would expose the pastors involved in the alleged plot.
“I have the audio from their meeting, and I will release it for everyone to hear how these men of God are plotting against Bawumia,” Afia stated in her video.
This revelation has sparked mixed reactions, with some Ghanaians questioning the authenticity of her claims and others expressing concern about religious discrimination in politics.
Dr. Bawumia, a Muslim, has consistently emphasized the importance of unity and religious tolerance in Ghana. If true, Afia’s allegations could raise serious issues about the role of religion in the country’s political landscape.
As the 2024 general elections draw closer, such accusations may intensify debates about religious bias in Ghana’s leadership. All eyes are now on Afia Schwarzenegger as the public awaits the release of the alleged audio evidence.
