According to the report by GhanaWeb, residents of Kasoa, Central Region, were left in shock after a businessman, Kwame Asare Boateng, was arrested for carrying body parts of his wife in a bag.
The police stopped him while he was on his way to dump the remains in a nearby bush.
According to eyewitnesses, Kwame Asare Boateng, who owns a small electronics shop in Kasoa, was acting suspiciously when he was seen carrying a large black bag at night.
Some people in the area became curious and decided to alert the police.
“He was walking fast and looking around as if he didn’t want anyone to see him. The bag looked heavy, and he kept adjusting it. That’s when we suspected something was wrong and called the police,” said one resident.
The police quickly arrived at the scene and stopped Kwame Asare Boateng.
When they opened the bag, they were shocked to find human body parts inside. After questioning him, he confessed that the remains were those of his wife, Ama Serwaa Boateng, whom he had killed earlier that day.
“I did not know what to do after it happened. I was scared, so I decided to cut her body into pieces and throw them away in the bush,” Kwame Asare Boateng told the police.
He claimed that they had been having problems in their marriage for a long time, and they got into a heated argument that turned violent. He admitted to attacking her but insisted that he did not plan to kill her.
The police have since taken the body parts to the hospital for further examination, while Kwame Asare Boateng remains in police custody. The case has shocked many people in Kasoa, with residents demanding justice for Ama Serwaa Boateng.
“This is heartbreaking. How can a man kill his own wife and try to throw her away like garbage? He must face the full punishment of the law,” one angry resident said.
Meanwhile, the police have assured the public that they will conduct thorough investigations to ensure that justice is served. The suspect is expected to be charged with murder and will appear in court soon.
