How Ken Ofori Atta was more powerful than the president of Ghana according to an NPP MP

Member of Parliament for Asante-Akim North Constituency Andy Appiah-Kubi has said that Ken Ofori Atta was more powerful than the president of Ghana.

According to him, the former Finance Minister did not listen to anyone and did not give honour where honour was due.

He said the President could order him to do something, but he will decide against the President’s orders and do what he thinks pleases him.

Speaking on Accra-based TV3, Andy Appiah Kubi said instead of the Minister visiting the Vice President, who was the head of the economic management committee, the Vice President rather had to visit him in his office to confer on the economy.

To him, that ensured that the economy would crash because everything went sour under his leadership.

To him, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia was very patient in all that was happening, even though he was hurt.

“He told me he procured power for me, and I told him my friend sit down. I did not see your hand in me getting power. It cannot be the case that, as a singular person, you can procure power, and that was the beginning of my advocacy and my selection as the spokesperson of the group,” he said.
