Ghana’s head coach, Otto Addo, has shared insights into his tactical approach as the Black Stars prepare for the crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Angola.
In an interview with Peace FM, Addo highlighted the significance of positioning and space awareness in his strategy. “For me, it is about finding the right positions and recognizing the space—knowing when to go deep and understanding the signals for when we can pass and when we can’t. It’s about working together, having counter movements in our team to distract the opponents, and using our good positioning to create doubts for our opponents about where to go,” he explained.
Addo recently unveiled his 23-man squad for the qualifiers, and the team began their training at the Accra Sports Stadium. They have since moved to Kumasi to continue their preparations
The Black Stars will face Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium on September 5, followed by a match against Niger in Morocco on September 9. These qualifiers are critical for Ghana as they look to secure their place in Africa’s premier tournament.
