The future ‘ain’t what it used to be, which makes predicting it something of a tricky business to be in since you’re always liable to be proven wrong in time.
However, someone who’s made a decent stab at prophecy is Baba Vanga, a Bulgarian blind mystic who died in 1996 and can boast an accuracy rating of about 85 percent.
Born in 1911 and blind since childhood, she was able to make startlingly accurate predictions and even Soviet leaders sought her out.
Now, a lot of what she said was pretty cryptic, so her saying ‘Horror, horror!’ The American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds. The wolves will be howling in a bush, and innocent blood will be gushing’ is apparently an accurate call of 9/11.
She’s also apparently predicted that the 44th president of the US would be a black man – meaning she predicted Barack Obama – while saying he’d be followed by someone who would ‘bring the country down’ which sounds like Donald Trump.
She’s made predictions for every year up until 5079 – but this year she was wrong about a solar storm hitting the planet and strikes by nuclear bioweapons.
If 2023 was a dud year for Baba Vanga, then perhaps 2024 will be a return to reasonably accurate form.
1) Putin assassination
She believes that the Russian leader will be assassinated next year, according to Astrofame.
The Kremlin continue to deny any speculation surrounding the 71-year-old.
2) Increase in terrorist attacks in Europe
In 2023, terror attacks are more deadly with 26 percent more people dying in each incident – the first rise in lethality in five years, according to the Global Terrorism Index (GTI).
3) Biological attacks
Similar to last year’s prediction, she believes that a ‘big country’ will conduct biological weapon tests or attacks in 2024.
4) Huge economic crisis
She has predicted a major economic crisis in 2024.
Baba believed that geopolitical tensions, a shift in economic power from the West to the East, and escalating debt levels could be an issue.
Those are the big four predictions she made for 2024, so if she’s right then we’re in for some turbulent times and another economic crisis which is a bit of a p****r since we haven’t properly recovered from the last two or three yet.
Perhaps we should cross our fingers and hope this is another one of those 15 percent years where she’s wrong.
She did predict her own death accurately, and her claims are often vague enough to give her a bit of protection under ambiguity.
