Hundreds of footsoldiers of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been fuming over the decision of government to appoint Despite Media’s Abeiku Aggrey Santana as Covid-19 Trust Fund ambassador announcing they are advising themselves over NPP support.
MyNewsGh.com’s live monitoring of the reactions when the news came in showed several footsoldiers taking to Twitter and Facebook to vent their spleen and express regret for even campaigning for the NPP and President Akufo-Addo. Some of them said they will make sure NPP goes to opposition because the party has taken their support and loyalty for granted. Some have said until the appointment is revoked, they have ceased being members of the NPP and will neither campaign nor vote for NPP.

Why did we toil for this party?
4. So it’s now clear that monkeys will always work for the baboons to enjoy. We live to see 2024
5. Awal Mohammed Tough ……writes!
If it is indeed true that Abeiku Aggrey Santana has been appointed by NPP government under Nana Addo 2 then the party should prepare for 2032 elections because 2024 is a cool chop for the NDC. Abeiku used his media platforms to campaign vigorously for NDC and JDM in 2016. Likewise Randy Abbey. Some graduates without job worked tirelessly for NPP to win power and still jobless but NDC Footsoldiers are given appointments everyday. I think NPP government is OK with the 8-year term so no need for campaigns to break the chain.
Abeiku Santana pushes for Mahama
It will be recalled that about 7 years ago, Movement for Mahama, led by Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, formerly of BBC and Metro TV and Abeiku Santana Aggrey of Okay FM urged the youth to have faith in then President John Dramani Mahama.
At a rally at Kao Kudi Junction in Accra in 2016, Abeiku Santana lauded the achievements and attributes of the current president, saying these have attracted the group to him and the NDC, asking the gathering to maintain their faith in Mr. John Dramani Mahama to turn things around, and praised the government for introducing the LESDEP initiative.
Mr. Santana said “I want the youth to vote for John Dramani Mahama because he is young, dynamic, focused and can deliver on his promises.”
He said “some Ghanaians were massacred in the Gambia, and it was John Mahama who brought their corpses to Ghana for re-burial with $500.000.00 compensation package for the deceased parents and spouses.”
Mr. Santana said the NDC has promised to turn the Polytechnics into Technical Universities and that to him was a better option than the free SHS policy of the NPP, saying without educational facilities and logistics, one cannot implement free SHS.
It is because of this and other movements that the footsoldiers of the NPP are up in arms against their party for his appointment.
