Asante Kotoko have reached an advanced talks to acquire the services of Accra Lions goalkeeper Andrews Owusu.
Despite having Frederick Asare and Fatao Seidu, the Porcupines are eyeing another shot-stoppers to bolster their squad, with Owusu emerging as a prime target.
The Kumasi-based club’s quest for a new goalkeeper is part of a broader strategy to enhance the team’s competitiveness.
The interest in the 23-year-old underscores the club’s determination to secure a top-quality goalkeeper to augment their squad after the departure of club captain Danlad Ibrahim and Cameroon’s Moise Pouaty.
Benjamin Asare kept 9 clean sheets in 15 games for the Dade Boys and picking 8 goals in his net.
Talks are currently ongoing between the two parties as they aim to reach an agreement for the potential transfer.
