Dec. 7 Elections: Dr. Bawumia Files His Presidential Nomination at Electoral Commission

The flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has on Monday, September 9, 2024, submitted his nomination forms at the headquarters of the Electoral Commission in Accra.

Dr. Bawumia, who is the incumbent Vice President of the republic of Ghana, has decided to contest for the highest seat of the land, the Presidency. As required by the electoral laws of Ghana, he is expected to pick up nomination forms at the Electoral Commission, hence, his filing of the nominations on Monday, September 9, 2024.


Dr. Bawumia was flanked by his wife, Samira Bawumia, as well as his running mate and his spouse, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and Mrs. Alma Abena Pokua Addae-Prempeh respectively.

Other Party executives, including the National Chairman, Stephen Ntim, General Secretary Justin Koduah Frimpong, Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin together with some bigwigs of the party, were at the premises if the Electoral Commission to render their support to their flagbearer.

Meanwhile, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama is expected at the Electoral commission on Monday, September 9 to also file his nomination forms.
