According to the report by GHOne TV today Saturday, residents of Odododiodio Constituency in Accra, Ghana, woke up to shocking news after a well-known church pastor was found dead inside his house under mysterious circumstances.
The pastor, identified as Reverend Samuel Kwame Asare, was discovered lifeless in his bedroom on Saturday morning, with his Bible and a white prayer cloth placed beside him.
According to close sources, he had not been seen outside for two days, which raised concern among his church members and neighbors.
Members of the Christ Ministry, where Reverend Asare was the senior pastor, said they decided to visit his home after he failed to show up for a scheduled Friday night prayer service.
One of the elders, Madam Grace Mensah, narrated the heartbreaking moment they found his lifeless body.
“We knocked on his door several times, but there was no response. Since we knew he lived alone, we decided to inform the police. When they broke the door, we found him lying on his bed with his Bible and prayer cloth next to him. It was heartbreaking!” she said.
Police officers from the Accra Central Police Station arrived at the scene and moved the body to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of death, but sources indicate that the pastor had complained of mild chest pains the previous Sunday.
Meanwhile, the police have assured the public that they are investigating all possibilities.
Inspector John Boamah, who led the police team, told journalists that officers will analyze medical reports before making any conclusions.
“At the moment, we do not suspect foul play, but we are waiting for the post-mortem results. The family and church members should remain calm as we conduct investigations,” he said.
Following the news of Reverend Asare’s passing, church members gathered at the church premises to hold a prayer session. Some members were seen crying, while others sang worship songs in his honor.
The deceased pastor was widely respected for his powerful sermons and charitable work in the community.
Many described him as a “humble servant of God who dedicated his life to helping the less fortunate.”
The funeral arrangements are yet to be announced as the family awaits the post-mortem report.
