Ghana Football Association (GFA) is reportedly considering the re-appointment of former Black Stars coach Otto Addo as the new head coach of the Black Stars after scoring the highest marks in the job interview.

The Black Stars are currently without a substantive coach after the dismissal of coach Chris Hughton after his poor display and exit from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The GFA has since appointed a committee to hunt for an eligible coach to replace Chris Hughton.

Among the over 500 applicants received by the GFA for the role, Otto Addo, per speculation, is currently leading the race to become the new coach for Ghana, with talks currently ongoing between the two parties.

The 48-year-old’s first stint with the Black Stars was in early 2022, when he succeeded coach Milovan Rajevac and later led Ghana to edge Nigeria in two legs to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

At the Mundial in Qatar, he recorded only a win against South Korea and lost the remaining two against Portugal and Uruguay, after which he returned to his post at German giants Borussia Dortmund after the competition.

Meanwhile, some high-profile names, such as German coach Jurgen Kohler and former Black Stars coach Goran , as well as two local coaches and former players of the Black Stars, Maxwell Konadu and Michael.
