The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the December 7 elections, John Dramani Mahama, has assured the people of Bono East Region of his intention to build a cashew factory to boost cashew production in the area.
Mr Mahama made this promise on Tuesday, September 3 while he was addressing a durbar in the Kintampo South Constituency.
It was the second day of his campaign tour of the Bono East Region.
The former President stressed that since the majority of the people in the area are farmers, cashew farmers to be precise, it will be prudent to put up the cashew factory in the area.
He expressed belief that the value of cashew and its products “will go up on the foreign markets when we process it here before exporting it”.
He also promised embarking on a massive road rehabilitation project in the Region when he returns to government.
Mr Mahama is touring the region in his quest to assume the reins of reins of government again.
