The Therapeutic Goods Administration has issued an urgent alert about ‘Big Penis USA tablets’ warning customers to stop taking them now.

The TGA tested four similar products; Big Penis USA tablets, Australia tablets, USA Black Gold tablets and Germany Niubian tablets and found they contained dangerous ingredients.

‘The tablets contain the undeclared substance sildenafil,’ the TGA said.

‘Sildenafil may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels.’

‘People with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease are often prescribed nitrates.’

The TGA said the drug, when taken in combination with other medications, can cause serious side effects.

‘Consumers are advised that sildenafil is a prescription-only substance in Australia and the supply of these products is illegal,’ it said.

‘Stop taking Big Penis U.S.A tablets and take any remaining tablets to your local pharmacy for safe disposal.’

The TGA also advised that anyone who suspects a side effect from taking the products should see a doctor.
