Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has warned his supporters and spokespersons to campaign devoid of insults and attacks, maintaining the flagbearer contest is a mere family affair. He observed that stepping on the toes of others to score political points should never be part of the campaign, especially for persons who believe in his candidature as that has no place in his personality.

The Vice President who is contesting to lead the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) as flagbearer indicated that the enemy is not members of their political party but rather, the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC).

“I want all of us to understand that this campaign is for our internal election. The main enemy is the NDC so as we campaign we should not step on toes. We want a clean campaign. We want to unite after this election to fight against the NDC. We are one family and when the contest is over we will come back as one family to make sure the NDC does not come to power. I urge all my supporters and my spokespersons to avoid insults. We need unity because that is what will help us break the eight,” he said during his meeting with party faithful in Accra.
