Ansu Fati has reportedly elected to leave Barcelona, with the winger’s interest set to spark interest from Premier League clubs.
As reported by AS Sport, Fati feels that he isn’t trusted by Barcelona manager Xavi, as demonstrated by the fact that he didn’t come on until the 79th minute against Getafe in the opening game of the season.
Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham are among the Premier League sides that have been linked with a move for Fati.
The 20-year-old’s pace and trickery make him an exciting prospect but he is eager to play regularly and was left frustrated after Abde Ezzalzouli and Lamine Yamal came on before him against Getafe.
Fati has four years remaining on his Barcelona contract but now feels that his future lies away from the club.
Fati made his Barcelona debut in 2019 at the age of 16 and became the club’s youngest ever goalscorer when he found the net against Real Betis.
He also became the youngest goalscorer in Champions League history when he found the net against Inter Milan.
In 2020 he tore the meniscus in his left knee and was out of action for nine months.
Fati then inherited the Barcelona No 10 shirt from Lionel Messi in 2021 but is no longer considered a regular starter.
In total Fati has made 110 appearances for Barcelona and has scored 29 goals, while he has provided ten assists.
