After paying a courtesy call to the opposition National Democratic Congress flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, Global President of Groupe Nduom, has revealed some odd happenings.
In a post on Sunday, July 21, 2024, Dr. Nduom made reference to certain events that he believed would only materialize when he petitioned the opposition flagbearer to have his bank’s operating license restored. However, he did not provide any specifics.
“Since we took our petition to former President & NDC Flagbearer H.E. John Dramani Mahama last Friday, strange things have been happening,” he wrote on Facebook.
On Friday, July 19, 2024, Dr. Nduom paid a courtesy call to former President John Dramani Mahama. He expressed shock at the Bank of Ghana’s decision to revoke GN Bank’s operating licenses, pointing out that he had worked closely with the central bank’s management and had developed a plan to revitalize the bank.
He was shocked, therefore, when the Bank of Ghana reversed course and destroyed his bank.
In multiple interviews, Dr. Nduom has insisted that sums owing by the government to contractors who were simultaneously in debt to the bank were a major factor in GN Bank’s inability to fulfill certain duties to its clients.
In a follow-up article, Dr. Nduom claimed that the ruling New Patriotic Party’s communicators were fabricating stories based on data from the Bank of Ghana.
“An attempt is being made by some NPP communicators and supporters to use some statistics supplied by the BOG to counter the presentation we are making to the public. We expected it. They should pay contractors so they can pay GN Companies,” he wrote.
