According to Ghana Web report, Renowned Ghanaian actress, producer, and director Yvonne Okoro has recently stirred up social media with her candid comments about the emotional qualities of men from Ghana and Nigeria. Appearing on TV3 Ghana in an interview with Giovanni Caleb, Okoro shared her perspective on what makes a man truly valuable in a relationship, highlighting some notable differences between the two nationalities.

During the conversation, Okoro made it clear that her comparison was not about wealth but rather about the deeper emotional connection she believes is essential for a healthy relationship. She stated, “Nigerian men are better than Ghanaian men, you know. I’m talking about the money aspect—just take that away. Money is not everything. It’s love, affection, and all that. Those are very important.”

Okoro emphasized that qualities like love, care, and respect are more crucial in a partner than material wealth. “I wouldn’t want that and wouldn’t wish that for any lady. I want a loving, caring, and God-fearing man,” she continued, underscoring the significance of emotional compatibility and mutual respect.

The actress also brought up Ghanaian actor Majid Michel, referring to him in a humorous light by suggesting that he is “more Nigerian than Ghanaian.” Okoro explained that Majid, who often works in Nigeria, embodies the traits she admires in Nigerian men, such as love, respect, and affection. “Majid Michel is like a Nigerian, in fact, he’s a Nigerian if you ask me, you know, because of the way he behaves,” Okoro remarked, citing his time spent working in Nigeria as a possible influence on his behavior.

Her remarks have generated mixed reactions online. While some fans agree with Okoro’s views on the importance of emotional connection, others have criticized her statements as a sweeping generalization of entire nationalities. Regardless, the interview has sparked a larger conversation about what people prioritize in relationships, the qualities they seek in a partner, and how cultural differences shape those expectations.
