In an attempt to murder his grandmother, 30-year-old Yaw accidentally burned his mother to ashes, according to a recent report from Kumasi.
The witness stated that Yaw is thought to have had mental health issues since childhood but hasn’t exhibited any symptoms of hurting anyone in the neighborhood. The incident took place in Abuakwa.
Witnesses claim that Yaw set the house on fire in an attempt to kill his grandmother for unidentified reasons, although at that time, neither Yaw’s mother nor the neighborhood were present; instead, Yaw’s mother was.
It was explained that Yaw’s younger brother, Kofi, went to report the problem to people nearby who came to stop Yaw but it was too late as the house was completely burned. Kofi believed that Yaw was the cause of the fire outbreak at the house and decided not to give the keys to the rooms to anyone who wanted to save Yaw’s Grandmother as her voice was heard calling for help while she burnt.
Yaw has been taken into custody as the police look into the situation.
